The “ Spanish Society of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Therapeutics of Pain ”, in the anagram SEDAR as a shortened form of name, is a non-profit association, legally constituted in 1953. It is governed by its Social Statutes of 2008.
Mission
• They seek to facilitate and enhance the scientific and research development of anesthesiologists.
• They contribute to the visualization of the competences of the specialty before the population, the administration and the rest of the medical specialties.
• They defend the interests and competencies of anesthesiologists in their three fields of practice, anesthesiology, intensive care and pain.
• They facilitate and enhance relationships and development of scientific research and training collaborations with other specialists and international societies.
• They represent the Specialty of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, collaborating with all the Organizations and Institutions established by the Administration and private entities, related to our areas of professional competences (anesthesiology inside and outside the operating room, intensive care and pain).
• They ensure the constant and continuous improvement of the specialty in all its facets, training, research and quality of care.
• They help partners with their professional interests and concerns.

To be the scientific society focused on the patient and on the partner, which knows how to meet the educational and scientific needs of the partners, at the same time, that ensures safe and quality care for patients.
