Spanish Glaucoma Society / Sociedad Española de Glaucoma (SEG)

Mission:
• Promote research and development of the study of GLAUCOMA, through meetings, conferences, and, if possible, stimulate scientific work on this disease, through calls for awards and the publication of a journal of the Society.
• Promote mutual cooperation between Ophthalmologists in the Spanish State, and maintain continuous professional contact with other societies or persons dedicated to similar purposes.
• Carry out dissemination and prevention campaigns on issues related to Glaucoma.
• Carry out control work on inaccurate statements in Social Communication Media regarding Glaucoma or its activity in the national territory.
• Inform the different health administrations about the position of the Spanish Glaucoma Society in relation to benefits for glaucomatous patients, both from the point of view of quality, means and organization of care, as well as from any other aspect considered of interest by the Society.
• Collaborate with the National Ophthalmology Commission, Universities, Hospitals and Public Administrations to improve the training of health professionals in all aspects related to Glaucoma.
