The GNPO is a non-profit organization that operates nationally and internationally. As a founding member of the Federation of the European Societies of Neuropsychology (FESN), the GNPO representatives also work with national European organizations in the field of neuroscience and their decision-makers.
One of the primary goals as President of the GNPO is to increase the level of awareness of clinical neuropsychology and to clarify the positioning in both the Austrian and the European health landscape.
In addition, quality assurance of clinical-neuropsychological tasks is very important to me. This refers to the certification of the further education curriculum clinical neuropsychology as well as the accreditation of the further education institutions. This also includes the development of standards for core clinical and neuropsychological activities. One of the most important successes is the introduction of clinical neuropsychology as a specialization according to § 29 (5) PG 2013 BGBl 182/2013 as the first department in Austria.
Last but not least, I will also promote the professionalization of the GNPO, which will be shown, for example, in a modern website, online access or documents.

Through clinical-neuropsychological diagnostics, our experts guarantee a validated and standardized assessment of the experience and behavior, as well as the performance options of our patients. This is the basis for decision-making for rehabilitation measures or retraining opportunities. Clinical-neuropsychological treatment is an essential part of the best possible restoration after acquired brain damage. Quality of life is the top priority in the care of our patients.
