The history of medicine is closely connected with history, knowledge and the culture of man and society. As elsewhere, in Slovakia They also have knowledge from paleomedicine, xenochodia, monastery infirmaries and city hospitals or infirmaries. The period of the beginning of the establishment of hospitals in Slovakia was the XI. – XIII. century. The first hospital in Hungary was founded by King Ladislav in Bratislava in 1095 and later named after him as the hospital of St. Ladislav. Hospitals were also built in free royal cities.
