Scioto County Medical Society (SCMS)

The Scioto County Medical Society was founded in 1857 – 1859. In 1865 another was begun. It was chartered under the laws of Ohio on February 6th, 1882, as the Hempstead Academy of Medicine. This organization was renamed the Scioto County Medical Society on April 24th, 1951.

The Scioto County Medical Society has been helping physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical community members to organize events, peer to peer groups, CME opportunities, and family events. The Society has also reached out into the community offering programs, and conferences to educate community members.
