Sacramento Valley Optometric Society (SVOS)

SVOS is the local affiliate of the California Optometric Association, one of twenty-five such societies in the state.

Of these, SVOS is one of the largest and most influential, boasting over 170 member doctors. Their footprint stretches from Fairfield to Lake Tahoe, with Sacramento right in the center. Their proximity to the Capitol allows their members a unique opportunity to be very involved in the legislation of their profession, including attending events like COA’s Legislative Day. Meanwhile, having VSP Headquarters in their backyard also provides insight into the inner workings of the business of optometry.

Their members receive many benefits from their membership including free attendance at their General Meetings which occur six to seven times each year. These meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month and are a great way to interact with your colleagues, network with potential employers and earn CE credits.
