The Rwanda Society of Anaesthesiologists (RSA) is a professional organization whose full membership is open to qualified Anaesthesiologists working in Rwanda. Anaesthesiologists from the rest of the world can be awarded Honorary Membership in relation to their contributions to the Society. The society is affiliated to the International World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA). RSA was legally formed in 2012 with a view to improve anaesthesia care in Rwanda and creating a professional body for the advancement of the specialty of anesthesia.
The RSA is the professional society of specialist Physicians dedicated to the care of the patient before, during and after surgery. Anesthesiologists are leaders in teamwork and patient safety, and are experts in Anesthesia and Perioperative care, resuscitation, intensive care medicine and pain management.
Mission:
• To promote and encourage the Science and Art of Good Anaesthesia in Rwanda.
• To recommend and ensure that the Standards of Training and Practice of Anaesthesia measure up to International Standards.
• To unite Anesthesiologists around the country to improve patient care and access to safe Anesthesia and perioperative Medicine.
• To promote the continuing education, research and innovation for those working in the field of anaesthesia to ensure the safety of Their
patients.
