The main goal of SRMR is to promote reconstructive microsurgery as a field of excellence at the scientific, practical and interdisciplinary level.

SRMR is a member of the European Federation of Microsurgery Societies (EFSM) as well as of the European Association for Research in Microsurgery (EMRA) where it actively participates in the recognition of the importance of microsurgery in all surgical specialties.

SRMR has a solid postgraduate training program in microsurgery, appreciated internationally. The continuous promotion of excellence and the permanent improvement of this program, were the foundation for the accreditation of EBOPRAS as well as the realization of partnerships with the Society of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (SRBPRAS) and the Elena Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery and thus initiation of training programs. successful outside the country's borders.
