Mission:
The mission of Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses of Texas is to provide peer and professional support to Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (PMHAPRNs), promote excellence in practice, and to advance the role of PMHAPRNs as clinicians, educators, and community leaders in Texas.
PAPN goal is to enhance psychiatric health care in Texas through leadership, advocacy, networking, and focusing on professional practice issues unique to psychiatric APRNs. Through Their newly formed organization, They will network with each other through face-to-face or video-streamed meetings, active social media and internet presence. They will harness Their collective talents, expertise, and knowledge in order to provide the real-time information you need as a busy PMH-APRN. They will also be the go-to resource for other Nurse Practitioner organizations who are working hard on Their behalf. Psych APRNs represent less than 3% of all APRNs in Texas, which means that They need to monitor the news that could impact psychiatric APRN practice in ways that may be unique from other nurse practitioners or clinical nurse specialists.
