Portuguese Society of Anesthesiology / Sociedade Portuguesa De Anestesiologia (SPA)

Founded in 1955, but its importance has been recognized at least since the beginning of the use of surgical anesthesia in Portugal, in the middle of the 20th century. Since then, the Portuguese Society of Anesthesiology (SPA) has played an instrumental role in the evolution of Medical and Health Sciences in Their country.

Aware of its importance as a fulcrum of increasingly sophisticated and patient-centered approaches, SPA is today fully committed to the growth and promotion of the Specialty in Portugal, focusing all its efforts around the technical, scientific and social development of Anesthesiology and Anesthesiologists.
