Perinatal Advisory Council: Leadership, Advocacy, and Consultation (PAC/LAC)

Glendale, California, United States of America

The Perinatal Advisory Council: Leadership, Advocacy, and Consultation (PAC/LAC) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) agency in 1981 to improve perinatal outcomes in Los Angeles County. PAC/LAC began to promote cooperation among persons/institutions providing perinatal care and developed/supported a regionalized perinatal system to include education, referral transport and data evaluation. The original goals have evolved to meet the needs of the region PAC/LAC serves. In the 1980s there was a large void in perinatal education provided to hospitals. To meet this need, PAC/LAC sought out hospital staff across three counties to attend monthly educational events/annual conferences to stimulate dialogues about evidence-based practices.

Mission
PAC/LAC serves as a catalyst for change through advocacy, quality improvement and advancing equity with health care professionals, organizations and systems providing perinatal care.

Vision
To enrich the knowledge, skills, and experience of health care professionals, public health, and community-based organizations working with mothers, birthing people, infants, and their families through education, resources, leadership, advocacy and consultation
