North German Association for Sleep Medicine eV / Norddeutsche Vereinigung für Schlafmedizin e.V. (NVSM)

The association was founded on January 26th, 1998 in Hamburg and has the following goals:
The NVSM is the association of people in northern Germany who are diagnostically, therapeutically and / or scientifically active or interested in the field of sleep medicine. The goals of the association are to promote training and further education and quality management of sleep laboratories, sleep medicine specialists and the staff employed in sleep medicine. Furthermore, a cooperation with the "German Society for Sleep Medicine (DGSM)" is planned.

Furthermore, the association strives for close cooperation with the medical associations and the associations of statutory health insurance physicians in order to contribute their ideas on the goals mentioned above. The association supports public relations work, i.e. it seeks cooperation with patient associations, self-help groups, training groups, etc. in order to make a contribution to the improvement of the prevention and treatment of sleep medicine diseases in this way as well.

The association does not seek profit. The funds of the association may only be used directly for the public benefit and in accordance with the statutes. The association is politically and denominationally neutral.
