NAPICU is a not for profit multi-disciplinary organisation, which was formally established in 1996 and is also a registered charity -SC048876. NAPICU is committed to developing and promoting the specialty of psychiatric intensive care and low secure services. they are dedicated to improving patient experience and outcome, and to promoting staff support and development.
Mission:
The aim of the National Association of Psychiatric Intensive Care and Low Secure Units (NAPICU) is to advance the care and treatment of those people who require Psychiatric Intensive Care and low secure units in acute services. they try to achieve this through promoting and sharing good practice, providing education and training, encouraging clinicians to establish networks and by undertaking research and audit.
