The Minnesota Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (MAEPS) is a non-profit professional association representing over 300 ophthalmologists in Minnesota. With roots going back to 1911, the MAEPS (formerly Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology- MAO) (1985-2025) and the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolarygology (1911-1985) was established to promote high-quality medical and surgical eye care for Minnesotans through education, advocacy and research. MAEPS sponsors continuing medical education (CME) events throughout the year and serves as a resource for socioeconomic, legislative, and regulatory affairs pertaining to eye care in Minnesota.
