Since its foundation in 1946, the Mexican Society of Radiology and Image, the oldest in the country and the most numerous in terms of number of associates, has been concerned with maintaining a high academic and scientific level of its associates and associates. other radiological groups in the country through its annual courses on General Radiology and Ultrasound and its weekly sessions at the company's facilities.

The Mexican Society of Radiology and Image also maintains the School of Radiology Technicians, the oldest and most prestigious in the country, from which the radiology technical professionals most requested by health institutions graduate.

The journal Anales de Radiología México, founded in 2002, is the only publication of its kind specialized in radiology in Mexico.

During the last years, the Society has organized international events with the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and with the European School of Radiology.
