Mission:
The mission of the Department of Medicine is to provide outstanding clinical care, to provide superlative education and to maintain their position as a world-leading centre for research and innovation. With over 300 full-time faculty, and more than 400 part-time faculty, the department consists of 18 divisions spanning the breadth of internal medicine. They provide their services to the people of Hamilton, St. Catharines and the Kitchener Waterloo area, as well as other regional centers. They work closely with their hospital partners at the Hamilton Health Sciences, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, the Niagara Healthcare System and other regional partner institutions to deliver excellent clinical care framed in the context of academic inquiry.
