Louisiana Oncology Society (LOS)

Rockville, Maryland, United States of America

The Louisiana Oncology Society (LOS) is a powerful community of oncologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other allied health professionals who provide a voice for multidisciplinary cancer care teams and the patients they serve.

Founded in 1992, LOS is the largest oncology professional organization in the state. Members rely on us to provide innovative resources to help them stay ahead of the shifting healthcare landscape and challenges that directly impact the high-quality care their patients deserve—both locally and on a national level.

To carry out their mission, they strive to:
• Promote quality treatment and care for all cancer patients in Louisiana;
• Provide effective representation for clinical oncologists practicing in the State of Louisiana;
• Disseminate information concerning the diagnosis, care, and treatment of cancer to practicing physicians and to the general public;
• Encourage the improvement of community facilities relating to the care and treatment of cancer patients;
• Promote new cancer technologies and to educate physicians, health care providers and the general public regarding such new technologies; and
• Promote collegial relationships among oncologists practicing in Louisiana.
