Los Angeles Society of Plastic Surgeons (LASPS)

The Los Angeles Society of Plastic Surgeons was founded over 30 years ago by a group of pioneering and innovative surgeons. These surgeons were located throughout Los Angeles and wanted to form an organization in which they could share their knowledge and surgical skills with one another. Their goal was to share this information in order to improve the quality of care they provided to patients.

The group initially formed an organization called "The Valley Council" in the late 1960's. The founding members were legends in the history of plastic surgery. They included esteemed surgeons such as Dr. Richard Grossman, Dr. Kurt Wagner, Dr. Dale Armstrong, and Dr. Dennis Thompson. In fact, Dr. Dennis Thompson continues to be an active member of the executive board to this day and Dr. Peter Grossman, the current President of the LASPS, is the son of one of the founders, Dr. Richard Grossman.
