The Los Angeles Radiological Society (LARS) founded in 1920, is dedicated to the promotion of high standards of practice in medicine overall with a focus primarily on Radiology and Radiation Oncology. Members of the Society adhere to the medical and ethical standards of practice adopted by the American College of Radiology.
Mission:
The purpose of the Society shall be the same as the purposes of the American College of Radiology and the California Radiology Society, which are as follows: The advancement of the Science of Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Allied Health Sciences, hereinafter referred to as "Radiology;" the improvement of radiologic service to their patients, studying the socioeconomic aspects of the practice of Radiology; the encouragement of improved and continuing educational opportunities for their members and members of the medical community; and the establishment and maintenance of high medical and ethical standards in the practice of Radiology and allied professional fields.
