The Latin American College of Dermatology (CILAD) is a non-profit organization that brings together more than 4,000 dermatologists as active members of 23 countries of Ibero Latin America. With more than 65 years of history , it was founded in 1948 in Havana, Cuba, with the aim of promoting the scientific development of the specialty and promoting the fraternal links of the Spanish-Portuguese speaking dermatologists. The authorities of the institution, made up of the Board of Directors and National Delegates, are elected during the General Assembly of Members every 2 years. The CILAD has 15 Scientific Chapters of sub-specialties of dermatology.

The work of CILAD includes various activities that stimulate educational and professional development, such as the Training Program for Latin American Resident Physicians in Dermatology (Latinaderm Excellence) and the Medical and Educational Assistance Program (PRAMED). The most finished result of the academic excellence of the institution is reflected in the great event organized by CILAD, the Latin American Congress of Dermatology, which takes place every 2 years. With more than 20 editions, this event is considered the largest in the specialty. It brings together thousands of residents and dermatologists from throughout the Ibero-Latin American region. The scientific quality is reflected in the vast programs that include workshops, symposia, workshops, courses, lectures, among other activities. All this ,without leaving aside the moments of social encounter that allow the formation of fraternal bonds and the interaction between colleagues. Additionally, the CILAD participates in the most important dermatological events in the region with spaces for attention in Institutional Stands and scientifically with Symposia and Sessions.
