Korean Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (KSUM)

Founded on May 10, 1980

• Since 1978, the number of doctors using ultrasonic diagnostic devices has increased, and it started with the goal of contributing to the development of the field of ultrasound medicine through the research development of ultrasound medicine and mutual friendship and exchange among members.

• At the suggestion of Joo-Wan Kim, who was a pioneer in ultrasound medicine in Korea, all doctors who use ultrasound devices were invited to 149 at Auditorium A of Seoul National University Hospital with about 20 specialists in radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, and cardiology as promoters for mutual exchange and education. A group of doctors gathered to hold an inaugural general meeting.
