The Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology was originally founded in 1947 as the Chosun Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since then, it has made significant efforts to contribute to society as a partner in women's health in South Korea, changing its name to the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It has been a leader in evidence-based medicine in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and has been at the forefront of the times.

The mission of our society is to contribute to society as a partner in women's health. To achieve this mission, our vision includes the training of experts in women's medicine, the advancement of academic knowledge through research support, active social engagement driven by a sense of purpose and ethics, the increase in trust among members as the representative body of obstetricians and gynecologists, and finally, the protection of the rights of both patients and doctors through the improvement of the healthcare environment. To accomplish these goals, our society has been actively striving.
