Japan Digestive Disease Week (JDDW)

The General Scope Committee took the initiative in drawing up the project plan for the 10th anniversary of DDW-Japan (with Kenji Fujiwara in charge). An international symposium was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary at DDW-Japan 2002 (Yokohama).

DDW-Japan was officially renamed JDDW. The JDDW trademark was registered in January. Yutaka Atomi assumed the post of Chairman.

In accordance with amendments to the regulations, committee names were changed (General Planning Committee to General Affairs Planning Board, Financial Committee to Financial Board, and Annual Meeting to Annual Meeting Board), and Public Relations Board was newly established.

JSGS participated in JDDW for the first time at the 18th JDDW 2010 (Yokohama). It was approved that the official member societies would be JSGE, JGES, JSH and JSGS. It was also decided that the Executive Board would decide the future member societies.
