Milano, Lombardia, Italy

The Italian Society of Hematology (SIE) was founded in 1934 by Adolfo Ferrata, Giovanni Di Guglielmo and Paolo Introzzi and made official in Pavia on 23 June 1935.

It is therefore one of the first Hematology Societies in Europe and in the world.

The SIE has always been very active and its history, in practice, is the history of the numerous and substantial Italian contributions to the development of modern hematology.

It is made up of members who have given themselves a statute with the intention of supporting the progress of the hematology discipline in the sector of assistance to blood patients, training and professional updating and scientific research.
