Vision:
IITAP’s vision is to be serving as the premier educational resource for therapists and other helping professionals.
IITAP strives to provide very high-quality seminars, using faculty that are successful leaders in the field using interactive and experiential teaching methods. In some of our programs we require additional supervision or continuing education when teaching complex or evolving topics to make sure our members are as prepared as possible. We frequently assess the needs of our members to determine what courses and topics are most relevant for them.

Core Beliefs:
1. Addiction and Behavioral Addictions are real, and recovery is possible.
2. Addicts and their families deserve quality treatment by compassionate providers.
3. Addition and Trauma do not discriminate. Both impact people of all races, sexual orientation, nationalities, religions, creeds, ethnicities, gender expressions, ages, physical attributes, or mental abilities.
4. IITAP celebrates diversity, and our ethical guidelines promote non-discrimination by race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical or mental ability, veteran status, military obligations, and marital status.
5. IITAP does not condone the practice of Reparative Therapy. Homosexuality is not pathological and is not a mental illness.

Goals:
1. Their goals are to set the standard of excellence in sexual addiction education and treatment.
2. We hope to promote professional training and knowledge about addiction and trauma so that therapists can provide compassionate and effective care.
3. We strive to encourage communication and networking so that our professional members can find support and resources to provide the best care possible.
4. We hope to provide our therapists with cutting edge resources and tools to make their practices more efficient and effective.
