International Dermoscopy Society (IDS)

The purpose of the IDS shall be the comprehensive promotion of dermoscopy, also known as dermatoscopy, direct microscopy of the skin, epiluminescence microscopy, incident light microscopy, and surface microscopy.

Activities to fulfil the Society’s purpose :
Professional activities:
• Exchange experience for the purpose of coordinating activities particularly in the area of early detection and prevention of melanoma.
• Develop agreement on quality standards for consultation of pigmented skin lesions and publish these results.
• Encourage cooperation in clinical and experimental studies in the area of pigmented skin lesions.
• Organize scientific and teaching events, in particular scientific congresses and educational courses.
• Conduct education programs for dermoscopy of pigmented skin lesions.
• Coordinate and support of projects of national dermoscopy groups.
• Publish a Journal of Dermoscopy
