The International Contrast Ultrasound Society (ICUS) is the only global medical society exclusively devoted to promoting the safe and appropriate utilization of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) where medically indicated, in order to improve patient care worldwide.
Founded in 2008, ICUS has grown to more than 4,000 members in 60 countries. Their diverse membership includes physicians, sonographers, nurses, scientists and other ultrasound imaging professionals, along with administrators, patients, the media and the public. Their members also bridge the fields of cardiology, radiology, vascular imaging, gastro-intestinal imaging, oncology, OB-GYN, hepatology and others medical subspecialties.
Mission:
• To promote the safe and efficacious use of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (“CEUS”) in patients with diverse medical profiles and disease states.
• To provide a global inter-disciplinary forum to foster education, research, and development of CEUS applications.
• To facilitate open and dynamic communications among medical professionals and scientists in the fields of cardiology, radiology, gastro-intestinal medicine, vascular medicine, internal medicine, hepatology, and other medical specialties and basic science disciplines.
• To foster education of the public on the safe and efficacious use of CEUS in patients.
• To create awareness in the medical community about the clinical benefits of CEUS.
Today, ICUS is the world’s only global, multi-disciplinary medical society exclusively focused on promoting the safe and appropriate use of CEUS to improve patient outcomes and experiences. Led by an international team of CEUS experts, ICUS now has members in more than 60 countries and is the most important voice for the CEUS field.
