The Institute of Cardiometabolism and Nutrition (ICAN) is developing the medicine of the future in the field of cardiometabolism and nutrition.

ICAN relies on the strengths and expertise of the medical and scientific research units of INSERM and the Pierre et Marie Curie University and of the medical teams of the AP-HP.

The ICAN community brings together researchers and clinicians in the heart and metabolism as well as paramedics (nurses, dieticians, psychologists, etc.).

Mission:
ICAN aims to fight obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, NASH (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) and dyslipidemias by translating the discoveries generated by patient-centered research into therapeutic and diagnostic innovations. For this, ICAN implements a multidisciplinary approach

The main objectives of ICAN are to:
• Develop translational research in the field of cardiometabolic diseases on an international scale
• Develop personalized medicine in which innovations are translated into care
• Train future healthcare professionals
• Promote research through public / private partnerships
• Disseminate scientific knowledge among professionals and the general public
