The embryo of the Indonesian Pediatric Association (IDAI) was formed on June 14, 1954, to coincide with Dr. Sudjono D. Pusponegoro and Prof. Sutedjo. As the first chairman of IDAI (1954-1968) is Prof.Dr. Sudjono D. Pusponegoro with members of the board of Prof. MD Hidayat, Dr. Sutedjo, Dr. Te Bek Siang, Dr. Ismangoen, Dr. Kwari Satjadibrata, Dr. Kho Ling Keng, and Dr. Jo Kian Tjaij.
