Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology (IASG) is a section of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). IASG was founded in 1988 as a non-profit organisation, by a group of surgeons with special interest in the field of Surgical Gastroenterology. Since then the association grew day by day and at present consists of more than one thousand members.

The primary objective of IASG is to promote the sub-speciality of surgical gastroenterology in India. To achieve this IASG is committed to conduct annual conference across India on regular basis and a mid term conference along with the conference of parent body (ASI). The association also collaborates with international associations, to help surgeons exchange knowledge and skill in the field of surgical gastroenterology.

IASG also helps in conducting regular CME and Clinics for the benefit of residents specialising in Surgical Gastroenterology. IASG encourages its members to publish their original work in Indian Journal of Surgery and Tropical Gastroenterology. It is also committed to evolving management guidelines to GI Surgical diseases prevalent in India.
