The Indian Association for Bronchology is an interdisciplinary society registered under the Act no. 431 of 1995 ( Societies and Public Trust ) dedicated to bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonology. It was founded in 1995 by 20 eminent bronchoscopists. The society has now grown to a membership of over 800. Over the past years, the society has been promoting bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonology, as also the state of the art management of pulmonary diseases. Annual conferences have been held in different parts of India. Many experts in Bronchology, both national and International share their expertise in these conferences. Participation from members and office bearers of the World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonogy, the Asia Pacific Association, and other foreign associations is an important aspect of the proceedings. These conferences included state of the art workshops, the latest developments in interventional techniques, and also various procedural experiences of the faculty from all over the country. At the same time they also train new bronchoscopists in basic bronchology. They provide a forum to learn from both national and International leaders in bronchology, and keep up to date with cutting edge technology. Workshops are periodically held also in various cities, to provide hands on experience and continuing medical education to the participants. The goal of the association is to teach and expand bronchology and interventional pulmonology in the evaluation and management of pulmonary disease.
