The Illinois Association of Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons (ILAPPS) traces its roots back to 1915 when it was originally registered with the State of Illinois as the Illinois Association of Chiropodists. In a pivotal moment in 1987, the organization officially transitioned to the name the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, and it has recently undergone another significant transformation with the adoption of the name ILAPPS.
