Ibero Latin American Society of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Neuroradiology / Sociedad Ibero Latino Americana De Neurorradiologia Diagnostica y Terapeutica (SILAN)

The Iberolatinoamerican Society of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (SILAN) was founded in September of 1988 in Acapulco and was registered in the city of Mexico on June 22, 1989. It is a professional, non-profit scientific organization, formed by neuroradiologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons interested in neuroimaging, both diagnostic and therapeutic. Its members can have any nationality with the condition of expressing themselves in Spanish or Portuguese.

Objectives:
• Promote the progress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Neuroradiology in the countries represented.
• Develop training programs in Neuroradiology.
• Promote and increase knowledge, friendship and collaboration among its members.
• Sponsor an annual Scientific Congress with oral communications, posters and foreign guests.
• Encourage cooperation and discussion about the problems that affect neuroradiology and related sciences in different countries.
• Establish information systems in printed form as well as electronic, as well as forms of communication of the scientific and technical advances of the specialty.
• Promote the publication of scientific papers in professional journals, especially by young neuroradiologists in training.
• Grant scholarships and other types of assistance to neuroradiologists in training to carry out advanced courses in Neuroradiology services of recognized international prestige.

Mission:
To promote the growth of Ibero-Latin American Neuroradiology through continuing medical education, annual conferences, and the fostering of interpersonal relationships among members from all participating nations.

Vision:
That the practice of Neuroradiology in Latin America achieves the highest level of academic and technological excellence, both in diagnosis and therapy, following universal objective standards.
