The Hellenic Ophthalmological Society (EOE) was founded in 1931 and is a non-profit Scientific Association. The purpose of the EOE is to promote ophthalmology in Greece, with the continuous training of qualified and specialized ophthalmologists and to take care of all kinds of professional issues of its members.
The educational role of the EOE is achieved:
• with the organization of bimonthly scientific events (one-day and two-day events) in Athens and the province.
• with the organization of Specialist Courses and the optional exams at the end of each module, in all areas of ophthalmology, and throughout the academic year.
• with the organization of the annual Panhellenic Ophthalmological Conference in Athens or the province, with a number of foreign and Greek speakers.
• with the publication of a scientific journal with the distinctive title "Ophthalmological Chronicles", which includes works by ophthalmologists from Greece and abroad, as well as the translated monthly publication of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, "Focal Points", -exclusive for Greece collaboration of the EOE with the AAO- with reference to a specialized ophthalmological topic each time.
