Guangdong Science and Technology Association

Guangdong Science and Technology Association (Guangdong Science and Technology Association for short) is a mass organization of science and technology workers in Guangdong Province, a people's organization under the leadership of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, and a bridge and link between the provincial party committee and the provincial government to connect science and technology workers. It is an important force in our province to promote the development of science and technology.

The predecessor of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Science and Technology was the Guangdong Provincial Science Association and the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Association. In 1958 the two associations merged to prepare for the establishment of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology. On November 17, 1961, the Provincial Association of Science and Technology was established in Guangzhou. Activities ceased during the "Cultural Revolution" and resumed in 1977. The past chairmen are Ding Ying, Ke Lin, Feng Bingquan, Pu Zhelong, Wu Shangzhong, Xie Xiande, Lu Zhonghe, and the current chairman is Huang Daren.

The Guangdong Provincial Association of Science and Technology is composed of provincial societies, associations, and research associations (referred to as provincial societies), local science and technology associations, and grassroots organizations. There are 5 directly-owned units (Guangdong Science Museum, Guangdong Youth Science and Technology Center, Guangdong Science Popularization Center, Guangdong Science and Technology Worker Service Center, Guangdong Science and Technology Newspaper Co., Ltd.), 161 provincial societies, prefecture-level listed scientific associations There are 21 colleges, 20 science associations, and 634 enterprise science associations.

The Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology focuses on the central work of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, with the main task of uniting and leading the majority of science and technology workers to serve and promote scientific and technological innovation, and fully fulfilling "serving science and technology workers, serving innovation-driven development, and improving the scientific quality of the whole people. To serve and serve the scientific decision-making of the party and the government, to effectively enhance the “political, advanced, and mass nature” of the association of science and technology, and actively promote the construction of an “open, pivotal, and platform-type” association of science and technology, in accordance with the Confidence, hard work, collaborative efforts, innovative development, the scientific and technological association work concept, pioneering and enterprising, hard work, made a positive contribution to Guangdong's "three positioning, two first" goals.
