Since it was founded in 1961, the German-speaking Mykological Society (DMykG eV) has made a significant contribution to the scientific development of medical and veterinary mycology both in the German-speaking area and on an international level. She has contributed to an awareness of fungal infections in everyday clinical practice.

The Deutschsprachige Mykologische Gesellschaft eV is a non-profit association. It was founded in Essen in 1961 and is based there. The office has been in Jena since 2015.

The DMykG eV has approx. 480 members from almost all medical and scientific disciplines that deal with mycolotic issues.
