The German Society of Cytology (DGZ) is a cross-disciplinary scientific advancement in cytology. Your sponsorship prize is dedicated to this goal. Since the founding year 1960, the DGZ has already conducted 28 scientific conferences, including 13 triple-day meetings in cooperation with the Austrian and Swiss Society of Cytology. On the occasion of its meetings the DGZ awards the award for innovative activities in cytology.

In addition, members of DGZ regularly participate as speakers and lecturers at the World Congress of the International Academy of Cytology (IAC) and the European Federation of Cytology Societies (EFCS).

The DGZ is the patron for approved cytological training events in Germany - regional and supregional. In addition, she is involved in advise on the establishment of schools for cytologists and medical assistants.
