The emergence of the German Society for Senology eV
1980 took place in Hamburg, under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Frischbier, the 1st International Congress of the "Senologic International Society" (SIS), a society that was founded in 1972 by Prof. Charles Marie Gros (Strasbourg) with the aim of helping everyone with normal and disturbed functions to bring together doctors dealing with the female breast. Goals of the German Society for Senology:
It is the declared goal of the German Society for Senology, through intensive interdisciplinary exchange of experiences between all medical and theoretical disciplines of biology, physiology as well as the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the mammary gland, to carry out their work and responsibilities professionally and personally confidently with even more specialist knowledge and security and to be able to continue success.
