The German Society for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects eV is the oldest branch of paediatrics. It emerged in 1973 from the "Working Group for Pediatric Cardiology" founded on October 14, 1969. The founding fathers were Prof. Dr. J. Stoermer (Essen) and Prof. Dr. HW Rautenburg (Giessen).
Tasks and Goals:
The German Society for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects eV is a non-profit medical society with the aim of promoting science, diagnostics and therapy as well as the prevention of congenital and acquired heart and circulatory diseases in childhood and adolescence. It takes care of teaching issues (training, further education and training) as well as the creation of guidelines.
