German Society for Hand Surgery / Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Handchirurgie (DGH)

The German Society for Hand Surgery is the association of surgeons, plastic surgeons, trauma surgeons and orthopedic surgeons working predominantly in the Federal Republic of Germany.

To promote science and research , the DGH organizes an annual congress . Currently, a hand trauma registry is set up to be able to optimize the long-term care of (severely) injured hands. In addition to the DGH's own research projects, the company's homepage offers the possibility of coordinating clinical research projects in the field of hand surgery.

Continuing education in the field of hand surgery is carried out by training seminars held twice a year and supported by the assumption of patronage for further training events by third parties. Conferences, seminars are also actively supported by members of the DGH in cooperation with other medical companies and with the statutory accident insurance.

The German Society for Hand Surgery works on the preparation of medical-scientific guidelines on the generally accessible transparent presentation of the hand-surgical standard and maintains contact with the AWMF (Association of Scientific Medical Societies).

In addition to co-operation with other international hand surgical societies (and the European Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand and International Society of Hand Surgery Societies), delegates are in constant contact with other national organizations surgical societies.

The purpose of the company is also to inform the general public about possible therapies for congenital and acquired deformities, dysfunctions, diseases and injuries of the upper extremities as a field of public health. The company offers free professional and scientific advice to medical companies, authorities, organizations, institutions and clinics in the field of hand surgery.
