The German Society for Psychology (DGPs) is an association of psychologists and psychologists working in research and teaching. The DGPs is a legal club. The DGPs seeks to promote and disseminate scientific psychology.
It exclusively and directly pursues charitable purposes, in particular through:
• The organization of specialist congresses, which usually take place every two years.
• The promotion of intradisciplinary communication within the whole field of psychology.
• The stimulation of psychological and interdisciplinary research programs.
• The promotion of specialized publications.
• Securing and expanding the position of psychology in higher education institutions, in research institutes and other scientific institutions, in school education and other educational areas as well as in public.
