The German Pain League eV, the organization for patients with chronic pain, was founded by patients and doctors in 1990 as a non-profit association. From 1997 to 2011, the internist, author and TV presenter Dr. medical Marianne Koch as President at the head of the Board. As honorary president, she remains connected to the patient organization.

Their goals:
The German Pain League aims to improve the quality of life of people with chronic pain. It provides information about the possibilities of modern pain therapy, about specialized therapists and campaigns for the patient's right to competent treatment.

The German Pain League promotes understanding for the problems of people with chronic pain both among those responsible for politics and in the public.
