The German Interdisciplinary Society for Outpatient Ventilation and Intensive Care (DIGAB) is a registered association under German law, operating on a non-profit and politically independent basis. The professional society emerged from the Association for Respiratory Weaning and Home Ventilation (AGH), founded in 1997. After being renamed the German Interdisciplinary Society for Outpatient Ventilation (DIGAB) in 2010, its members decided in 2024 to expand its membership to include people requiring intensive care.
