German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG)

German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG)

Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

The aim of the GHSG is to optimize and standardize the diagnosis, therapy and follow-up care of patients with Hodgkin lymphoma. This is to be achieved through the following scientific and structural measures

The main task of the study center lies in the planning and conceptual preparation of studies, documentation of patient processes, data management and the evaluation and publication of study results.

To date, more than 15,000 patients have been included in the GHSG studies and treated according to study protocols. The first-line therapy studies are now in the sixth generation.

The close cooperation between physicians such as internists, radiation therapists, nuclear medicine specialists, radiologists and pathologists with basic scientists, biomathematics and statisticians led to a successive optimization of the therapy schemes from study generation to study generation, so that today 75-90% of patients with Hodgkin lymphoma are permanently cured.
