The German Dermatological Society (DDG) is the scientific specialist society of German-speaking dermatologists

The DDG was founded after an initial preparatory meeting in Cologne in 1888, with an official ceremony in 1889 at Charles University in Prague. Today the DDG has its headquarters in the center of Berlin, at Robert-Koch-Platz 7, in the building of the Kaiserin-Friedrich-Stiftung, the oldest medical center in Germany.

The aims of the DDG are to promote scientific and practical dermatology, venereology and allergology and their specialist areas such as andrology, phlebology and lymphology, proctology, dermatological oncology, dermatological radiation therapy, dermatological microbiology, occupational and environmental dermatology, dermatohistology as well as prevention and rehabilitation.

The DDG works closely with patient associations and self-help groups at national and international level, for example representing patients with psoriasis or atopic dermatitis.
