German Academy for Development Promotion and Child and Adolescent Health eV / Die Deutsche Akademie für Entwicklungsförderung und Gesundheit des Kindes und Jugendlichen e.V.

Munich, Bavaria, Germany

The German Academy for Development Promotion and Health of Children and Young People eV (formerly: German Academy for Development Rehabilitation) has existed since 1983. It is a founding of the Foundation for Disabled Children in Prevention and Early Detection in Frankfurt and the Sunshine Campaign - Help for the Children with multiple disabilities in Munich for the training, further education and further training of doctors, psychologists, therapists, pedagogues, educators, early supporters and other professional groups who deal with sick, disabled, impaired or disadvantaged children in any way.

The academy is an association and pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes. The association's funds may only be used for statutory purposes. No person may be favored by disproportionately high remuneration. For the seminars, the German Academy for Development Promotion and Health of Children and Young People eV in Munich owns a building with course rooms and a lecture hall; the construction was kindly supported by the Federal Ministry and the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs and the Bavarian State Foundation.

The maintenance of the building and its furnishings, the costs for the employees and all seminars and congresses are borne by the association itself, without public funds or sponsorship. The academy attaches great importance to making independent decisions about its further training content and offering high-quality, valid further training through qualified speakers.

The board of trustees advises the academy on issues relating to the topics and content of the continuing education and training programme. The advanced training offer is interdisciplinary, the topics are geared towards the affected children, young people and their families, whose needs can rarely be satisfied by a single specialist discipline. The cooperation of the various professional groups is often the basis for successful treatment and care. The knowledge and skills of one are only valuable in the interaction of the professions.
