Established in 1947, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP) serves as the Georgia chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). With a mission to promote the health of Georgians, GAFP advances the specialty of family medicine through education, advocacy, and service. Their membership includes over 3,300 family physicians, residents, and medical students statewide, all committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. As a constituent chapter of the AAFP, GAFP aligns with national standards while addressing the unique needs of family physicians in Georgia.

The AAFP supports every stage of a family physician’s career from aspiring student to seasoned professional. Embracing the diversity of family physicians’ roles and experiences, they offer the tailored, evidence-based resources, advocacy and communities needed to empower your practice of family medicine.

Mission:
The Mission of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians is to promote the health of the citizens of Georgia by advancing the specialty of Family Medicine through education, advocacy and service to family physicians in the State of Georgia.
