Ganga Nursing Home was started in 1978 by Dr.J.G.Shanmuganathan & Mrs.Shanmuganathan. The strength Ganga Hospital was started in 1978 by Dr J G Shanmuganathan and Mrs Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan with 17 beds and 2 Operating theatres at Ramnagar, Coimbatore. The hospital underwent multi-staged expansions and was converted to a specialty centre in Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery after their sons Dr S Raja Sabapathy and Dr S Rajasekaran returned to India following specialist training in UK and USA. In 1991. The hospital moved over to its present premises in Mettupalayam Road, Coimbatore in 2007 and also had added expansion to a separate block in 2020.
