The FMOQ in brief
The FMOQ is the professional union that represents all general practitioners in Quebec. It has more than 9,500 members grouped into 19 associations. The FMOQ negotiates the conditions of practice of general practitioners with government authorities in order to improve the supply of care and services in the health network.

Professional autonomy of the doctor:
Since its creation, the FMOQ has constantly taken care to preserve the professional autonomy of physicians, so that only the quality of the medical act and the health of the patient motivate the decisions to be made. In addition, it negotiates measures that give due recognition to the work of general practitioners to enable them to practice under the best conditions, both in medical clinics and CLSCs and in hospitals.

The FMOQ offers the associations that make it up, as well as their members, numerous services in all sectors of professional life, whether representation or negotiation, continuing education, administrative or financial services.

Mission:
The FMOQ's mission is to watch over the professional and scientific interests of general practitioners in Quebec. The Federation guides and supports its members regarding the realities of their practice environment and the health network. It defends their professional autonomy and does everything in its power to ensure that they practice in conditions that allow them to offer their patients the optimal quality of care to which they aspire.
