The main activities of the Society have been concentrated on an annual meeting held in June in the country of the Society President. The scientific programmes of such meetings have included most advances in imaging techniques and scientific knowledge for chest diseases, and CME programmes have been delivered by the best European Faculty in thoracic imaging. Beyond the annual meeting the aims of ESTI include to provide recommendations and guidelines for appropriate practice in chest imaging, and to establish long-term relationships with the industry partners in order to convert technologic innovations in new clinical applications.

Mission:
The European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) was founded to foster excellence, education and research in all aspects of thoracic radiology. The traditional vehicle of their non-profit organisation is the annual meeting which aims to bring together not only renowned experts in the field but also to attract trainees, young academics, developers, users of technology and those in allied fields from across Europe and around the world. The aims of ESTI will be continuously endorsed by educational and training courses, updated expert panel recommendations and guideline development in publications and notifications on the ESTI homepage as well as Their journals European Radiology and Journal of Thoracic Imaging. Vision:
It is their vision to share best diagnostic and interventional practice within the European thoracic radiology community and beyond. In this way they will meet the evolving and challenging health care needs in the field of respiratory disease.
